A joint New York State Police and Fulton County Sheriff’s Office operation has resulted in the arrest of two alleged child predators and two alleged prostitutes.
According to a sheriff’s office release, on Tuesday four were arrested, including Christopher L. Wilcox, 49, of Gloversville; Thomas Gordon, 59, of Fonda; Laura Law, 35, of Fort Plain; and Shitiqua Williams, 28, of Albany.
According to police, Wilcox was charged with attempted rape in the second degree, a class D felony for attempting sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old female. He was communicating with a member of the state police who he thought was a 14 year old. He was also charged with attempted criminal sexual act in the second degree, and disseminating indecent materials to a minor in the first degree, a class D felony.
Gordon was charged with attempted criminal sexual act in the second degree with a 14-year-old male. He communicated by electronic device with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old.
Both men were arraigned in Perth Town Court by Judge Wayne McNeil. Bail was set at $15,000, or $30,000 bond.
Law was charged with one count of prostitution, a class B misdemeanor.
Williams was charged with one count of prostitution as a class B misdemeanor.
Both women were also arraigned in Perth Town Court by Judge Wayne McNeil.
The operation was jointly conducted by members of the Fonda and Mayfield Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the sheriff’s investigative unit. Members of both agencies’ uniform divisions participated as well as state police computer crimes unit, special investigations unit and electronics unit.
