GLOVERSVILLE – A steady rain shower didn’t prevent the members of the Gloversville Civic Band from performing their first concert of the summer season for the local community on Wednesday night at the Glove Performing Arts Center. The band is led by Conductor Thomas Gerbino and features a variety of musicians from throughout the Mohawk Valley. On Wednesday the band played a concert titled “Salute to America” which featured a wide variety of patriotic tunes. The band plays for the local community every Wednesday at 7 p.m. from July 9 to August 6. The shows are typically at Melchoir Park on Kingsboro Avenue but in the event of rain the show is moved to the Glove Performing Arts Center, at 42 N. Main St.
