The event is open to any captains looking to participate in the sixth annual two-day Sailing Regatta on the Great Sacandaga Lake and also open to any individuals that would like to observe the competition from land.
The event will have a variety of wind powered boats and each category will be broken down into different heats and courses during the two-day weekend event.
Organizers said the participating boats will set sail around 9 a.m. and cruise around the designated courses throughout the lake for most of the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday.
