Alum report for website 7.7.16GLOVERSVILLE — The fundraiser that started just over 18 months ago as part of the Gloversville Library’s Capital Campaign, the Alumni Challenge now boasts 243 donors from Bishop Burke and 36 GHS classes, with total contributions of over $85,000.
Currently, many classes have no representation, but with milestone reunions taking place over the summer, goals of 300 donors, 50 classes, and $100,000 by the end of September seem well within reach.
The 50s and 60s are strongly represented for the highest total amount contributed and the highest number of donors, with the classes of ’64 and ’62 leading the pack in those respective categories.
Donations can be made in memory of a former graduate or in honor of a future GHS alum who’s now in middle or grade school, and bookmark/acknowledgement cards are available at the library to give to recipients.
To become part of the challenge, make a check payable to GPL Capital Campaign, be sure to specify Bishop Burke or the appropriate GHS class year on the check’s memo line, and mail to Gloversville Public Library Capital Campaign, 58 East Fulton Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
