GLOVERSVILLE – A city teen who struck two females and was also found to have bath salts in his possession was arrested last week , according to police.
Levoster G. Chandler Jr., 16, of 44 Fourth Ave, Apartment 2, was arrested at his home and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of third-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and third-degree escape.
Police said they were called to 44 Fourth Ave for a fight in progress and when the officers arrived the fight was completed and Chandler had fled the scene.
Authorities said the officers’ investigation revealed that Chandler had an argument with a female regarding a missing cell phone and the argument became physical when he struck the female victim and a second juvenile female victim. During this time, police said he had also damaged the porch railing when he intentional broke it.
The officers quickly located Chandler and when they attempted to place him under arrest he fought with the officers before being placed in custody without anyone being injured.
Authorities said a search revealed he was in possession of 11.9 grams of bath salts.
During arraignment the District Attorney’s Office recommended $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond and that amount was set by the judge.
