The 50 Plus Club, located in the Shirley J. Luck Center, 109 E. Main St., will hold a “Friendship Day” luncheon at noon. The luncheon will include pizza, salad and beverages. The cost is $3 per person, $5 for two when you bring a friend. Reservations are required by Feb. 14 and can be made at the center’s office. For more information call 762-4643.
The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 State Highway 30, will unveil its 2017 Winter/Spring Art Show with a Meet the Artists Opening Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Saturday, Feb. 18
The Gloversville Moose Lodge #351, 140 E. State St., will host a chili cook off from 1-4 p.m.. Local volunteer fire companies have been invited to bring their chili to the club. The public is invited to stop in to sample the entries and cast their vote. The winner will be announced at 5 p.m. The Moose Club will make a $500 donation to the winner. Entertainment will be provided. There will be a 50/50 raffle along with a Chinese auction.
Monday, Feb. 20
The Fulton County YMCA, 213 Harrison St., will offer guitar lessons with Aaron Mittler. Lessons will focus on an individual’s strumming technique, more chords and song learning abilities. This will be a three week lesson. Beginner’s lessons will be from 5-6 p.m. and intermediate lessons will be from 6-7 p.m. The cost is $10 for members, $20 for the general public. Tuesday, Feb. 21
The Broadalbin Kennyetto Historical Society will meet at the First Presbyterian Church, West Main St., at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Jonas Kover, history professor, from Fulton Montgomery Community College. Refreshments will be served.
The Gloversville Public Library Board of Trustees’ will hold its meeting at the library, located on 58 E. Fulton St., starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Northville Public Library, 341 S. Third St., will host “Story Time” at 10 a.m. coordinated by Hadley Jacobs. Bring your pre-school children for stories, snack and a craft.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
The Fulton County YMCA, 213 Harrison St., will hold a coupon class with Aimee Ricciardi who will teach you how to shop for the best deals, match your coupons, how to get the best coupons and the best way to organize them. The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Everyone will be given a starter set of coupons. Stop by the YMCA to sign up. This class is free for members and $10 for the general public. Tuesday, Feb. 21-23
The Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 State Highway 30, will hold a Kid Cooking Camp for ages 8-12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This creative culinary camp is very popular with kids. From pizza to other tasty treats such as mini chocolate delights, the young chefs will keep busy in a professional teaching kitchen. Additionally, they will create fun food related art projects they can take home. Campers should bring a water bottle each day. The cost is $130 for pre-registration and $155 at the door. Members receive a 20 percent discount and can enter the code at checkout.
