Benefit for the July 2017 Thursdays at Noon Chamber Concerts at Saratoga Arts

Since 2000, a small group of the NYC Ballet Orchestra musicians have offered summer chamber concerts at The Arts Center on Thursdays during the Ballet’s residencies at SPAC. These annual concerts have provided the community rare and cherished opportunities to see and hear these extraordinary musicians in an intimate setting, and have become a valued supplement to the full-scale ballet performances of SPAC’s classical season. Please join us on Thursday, May 25th for performances, refreshments, and conversation to help support the 2017 “Thursdays at Noon” Chamber Concerts. Tickets for this special event will be $35 for one or $50 for two people – for more information and on-line tickets, please visit our website or call us at 584-4132. The series’ Artistic Director, Luellen Abdoo, violinist, will be joined by highly acclaimed pianist, Christopher Oldfather, in a special program of works by Stravinsky, Mozart, Saint-Saëns, and a wonderful Tango composed by NYC Ballet Principal Bass/Composer Ron Wasserman. Chris will also graciously perform selected works from Chopin. Tickets for this special event will be $35 for one or $50 for two people. Chamber has many services to offer

By MARK KILMER For the Express I like to say that the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce is in a constant state of reinvention, continuously exploring new and unique ways to provide value for our members. I was brought up by a mother who instilled in me a high sense of morals, including that is always wrong to steal … that is … except with your eyes. That’s pretty self-explanatory, but just to be clear, if you see a great idea take it in and try to incorporate it into your life or business. That is just what the entire chamber staff has always done. We are constantly looking at other chamber’s operations to try and incorporate their best practices into our own. I believe that this chamber offers the greatest number and most diverse programs than any other chamber. In this article I will elaborate on a few of our programs. First and foremost is the opportunity that your chamber membership offers when it comes to engaging with others at our Business After Hours, as well as other events, as a means of networking. Now, I know that there is a feeling that social media has taken the place of hands on networking. Not true! Nothing can take the place of face to face connections when it comes to establishing and nurturing a lasting professional relationship. This...

Chamber is in the marketing business

By CASEY CROUCHER For the Express The Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce hired me as its Marketing Specialist at the beginning of this year. In this new position, I assist contracted organizations with planning and facilitating events, marketing and promoting those events and other duties. My background helps me excel in this position — I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 2013 from SUNY Oswego in Journalism/Communications with a minor in Political Science. I’ve worked as a newspaper reporter for The Leader-Herald and The Recorder, and I’ve done freelance radio reporting for WENT 1340 AM Radio. My first project as Marketing Specialist has been to collaborate with the village of Northville and the town of Northampton and its businesses to market and promote their events and to help with promoting the municipalities. Within the first six months of working with the town and village, my work on this project has included creating and administering a Facebook page, “Visit Northville, NY”, which has over 400 followers in the first four months since its creation. I’ve  helped compile and create a list of events taking place in the town/village and surrounding areas and I’ve helped promote these events through online and print calendar pages throughout the region. I’ve also created Facebook event pages that have been seen by thousands of people, created flyers that were distributed throughout the area, wrote and...
